A Coastal-Inspired Bathroom Remodel Designed for Real Life
For this bathroom remodel, we started by listening to how our client actually uses the space. Most of the time, the bathroom is just for her, but she also regularly cares for her grandkids. She wanted a bathroom that felt beautiful and relaxing while still being practical for bathing little ones, easy to clean and equipped with plenty of storage.
Because we were working within a relatively small footprint, thoughtful space planning was key. One of the biggest changes was removing the wall that separated the vanity from the toilet and shower area. Opening up that division allowed us to create a more functional layout and design a wet room with a curbless shower, making the bathroom feel larger, more open and easier to use.
The wet room also made sense for how she uses the space. It created a more flexible bathing area for helping with the grandkids while also simplifying cleanup and giving the room a cleaner, more seamless look.
Ample storage was another priority, so we incorporated cabinetry that gave her room for everyday necessities without making the bathroom feel crowded.
As her general contractor, our role went beyond managing the construction. We also helped guide the finish selections, including the wall and floor tile, cabinetry and countertop material. Each choice was considered as part of the overall coastal-inspired design while also taking durability, maintenance and everyday function into account.
